Job Title: Christmas Light Installer

Summary: Do you love the commercialization of Christmas? Spread merry holiday cheer all over Puget Sound whilst sipping hot cocoa and sharing with your fellow elves in the American Dream. At High-Strung Lights, we sell and install Christmas lights for residential homes and commercial businesses. 

Location: Snohomish and King County

Duration: Training is August-September, with most of the work occurring October, November, and January. There is limited work during the second half of December.

Responsibilities: Arrive at the Christmas workshop in Snohomish, WA; collect daily order materials; drive a company vehicle to various locations and install Christmas light displays. Climb trees, hang wreaths, clip lights, carry and climb ladders, set timers, walk on roofs. Ladders, extension cords, tool belts, and rain gear are the daily tools of the trade. The installation season runs from October 1st, through mid-December. The takedown period lasts approximately the first three weeks in January. We currently service 700+ homes.. 

Reinstalling the existing clients takes place in October and November, while periodically adding new installations throughout that time. During the reinstallation phase, homeowners already have their lights from the previous season. They leave them out on their porch for us to retrieve and install. After Thanksgiving, we focus on new installations. Upon takedown, we return all materials back to the storage tote on their porch to store away until next year.

Qualifying Skills: MUST BE OK WITH HEIGHTS. Safety, productivity, and customer service are essential in this line of work. Regard for safety--observes all of the company policies on ladder setups, harness equipmend and roof-walking protocol. Customer service--friendly and professional interactions with homeowners and business owners. Productivity--we have a short work season and are motivated by efficiency and stamina. Must be able to walk/climb roofs (we provide training and proper safety equipment). Should be able to carry up to 50 lbs. You will learn to design yard-displays. Climbing trees and wrapping limbs with lights is also a regular part of the job. 

Drug Free and drivers license required.

Compensation: DOE. Lead Technicians $30-40/hr.

General labor staff at $18-24/hr

Job Title: Administrative Assistant

Summary: Work remotely! Part time or full-time work available to help run daily office operations. Training is in person for 40 hrs.

Location: Snohomish and King County

Duration: In-person training for 40 hours in August/September. Work begins approximately at the last week of September, with the heavy weeks throughout October and November; work slows down in the first two weeks of December; 4 more weeks of work available in January.

Responsibilities: Receiving and responding to customer inquiries via phone/email; scheduling jobs including installations, takedowns, and on-call maintenance; assign staff members to jobs; use computer remotely for work; work within our operating applications/software; track inventory; process company payroll; process payments and invoices; route trucks for installing; track inventory. Training is provided and support is provided throughout the season.

Qualifying Skills: Must be able to work remotely from a computer. Professional, customer-service-driven communications; can write a professional email; communicates clearly and concisely with clients; can direct operations and make decisions regarding routing, scheduling, staffing; is capable with operational software, excel spreadsheets, and messaging software.

Job Title: Sales Associate

Summary: Work remotely! Part time or full-time work available to help run daily office operations. Training is in person for 40 hrs.

Location: Snohomish and King County

Duration: In-person training for 40 hours in August/September. Work begins approximately at the last week of September, with the heavy weeks throughout October and November; work ends within the first two weeks of December.

Responsibilities: Receiving and responding to customer inquiries via phone/email; designs digital images of proposed installations; use computer remotely for work; work within our operating applications/software; uses online design tools; communicates with production department regarding available inventory; communicates with schedulers regarding available install dates. Training is provided and support is provided throughout the season.

Qualifying Skills: Has installation experience; must be able to work remotely from a computer. Professional, customer-service-driven communications; can write a professional email; communicates clearly and concisely with clients; can use design software; understands aesthetic and design components of installation; enjoys sales work; understands pricing rubrics; knows products and services; is capable with operational software, excel spreadsheets, and messaging software.
